Ordering & Shipping
How soon will my custom roll arrive?
Because every order is cut, tinted, and packaged on demand, standard lead time is 7-10 business days from confirmed payment to outbound shipping. Transit times vary by carrier and destination.
Can I request odd widths or partial rolls?
We totally understand the appeal of buying just the footage you need, but Peak PPF is manufactured, coated, and quality-checked as a single, continuous roll. Supplying only full rolls guarantees you receive consistent color-matching, adhesive freshness, and uninterrupted warranty coverage from edge to edge.
Do you ship overseas?
Yes, we ship all over the world. Shipping costs will apply, and will be added at checkout. We run discounts and promotions all year, so stay tuned for exclusive deals.
Product & Technology
What exactly is paint protection film?
PPF is a clear (or colored) polyurethane layer that absorbs road debris energy before it reaches your paint, preventing chips and chemical stains.
How is Peak PPF different from typical brands?
- Color Choice: 97 stock hues plus bespoke Pantone matching.
- Made-to-Order: No shelf aging that can degrade adhesive.
- Installer-First: Every roll ships with marketing assets to help dealers upsell.
Does Peak PPF self-heal?
Yes. The TPU top-coat realigns under mild heat (sunlight or warm water), making fine swirl marks disappear.
Can it be applied to matte, satin, carbon fiber, or chrome surfaces?
Peak PPF film bonds safely to OEM clear-coat, powder-coat, bare metal, carbon fiber, and chrome.
Will paint protection film alter the appearance of my vehicle?
That depends on the film you choose and the surface beneath it. Gloss films disappear into factory paint, while matte or colored films deliver a deliberate style upgrade. Your installer can show side-by-side samples so you know exactly what to expect.
Will the colors fade?
Modern aliphatic TPU and UV-stable pigments resist yellowing and fading for years, a major improvement over early PVC-based films.
Installation
Can I install Peak PPF rolls by myself?
Professional installation is recommended. A trained tech uses plotter-cut templates, slip solutions, and IR curing lamps to ensure flush edges and bubble-free adhesion. Find your local Peak PPF Certified Partner here.
How is Peak PPF installed?
When working with one of our Certified Partners, you can expect CAD-designed templates that match your exact year, make, and model. Those patterns are precision-cut on a 72-inch plotter, trimmed for wrapped edges, then bonded to the paint with manufacturer-approved adhesive; all without touch a razor blade to your vehicle.
Does the film ever need to be hand-cut on the car?
Rarely. Our large-format plotter handles nearly every contour. In the few spots where micro-trimming is unavoidable, your Certified Partner may use specialty tools that protect the paint.
How long does installation take?
A full wrap typically requires 3-5 shop days depending on panel complexity and the installer. Refer to your dealer for more information.
Does installing PPF void factory paint warranties?
No. The adhesive is paint-safe and peels away cleanly when removed by one of our Certified Partners.
Performance & Durability
How long will Peak PPF film last?
With proper installation and care, Peak PPF owners report lifespans of 7-10 years.
Does PPF turn yellow?
Top-tier TPU films remain optically clear, though neglect (baked-on grime) can cause surface discoloration that a decontamination wash usually removes.
Will my Peak PPF film crack or peel in extreme heat or cold?
Peak PPF’s elastomeric clear‑coat is rated from ‑40 °C to 110 °C and carries a limited 10‑year warranty against cracking when installed per our guidelines.
What will happen to my factory emblems during installation?
You have three options:
- Film around the emblem - This is the fastest option, though you may notice a faint edge up close.
- Temporary emblem removal - Your Peak PPF Certified Partner lifts the badges, installs the film, then reinstalls the emblems precisely.
- Permanent deletion - This is an ideal option if you prefer a de-badged look. Your installer will walk to you through the pros and cons of each choice.
Can a ceramic coating be applied over Peak PPF?
Absolutely. Dedicated ceramic formulas bond to paint protection film, boosting water beading, stain resistance, and long-term gloss. A ceramic-topped PPF package stays cleaner and looks newer for longer.
Is PPF worth the investment?
Industry data show PPF preserves resale value by preventing costly panel resprays and keeps luxury finishes looking factory‑fresh.
Peak PPF After-Care
Can I list Peak PPF coverage on my insurance policy?
Many insurance carriers allow you to add the replacement value of full-body PPF. It is worth exploring, especially for exotic or oversized vehicles. Your insurance agent can outline any premium changes.
How should I care for my Peak PPF-wrapped vehicle day-to-day?
Hand-washing once a month with pH-neutral soap keeps the surfaces spotless. Skip touchless or brush tunnels for the first two weeks while adhesive cures, and whenever possible afterward for maximum film life.
Is an automatic car wash ever okay?
If hand-washing is not an option, a soft-cloth tunnel is acceptance once the film has fully cured. Just know that repeated mechanical abrasion can shorten its lifespan.
How is film removed when it is time to replace it?
PPF removal is a professional service. We use controlled steam and low-angle pulling techniques that lift the film without lifting clear-coat or leaving adhesive. Book a certified Peak PPF partner to guarantee a clean finish.
